Artist Statement:
« I learned from ancient folk artists how to create simple, strong shapes combined with cubism elements in paintings, which gave me a modern and close look at life. »
Quynh Hoang is an artist based in Vietnam whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Thailand, the Netherlands, and Germany. Her distinctive still-lifes, landscapes, and rural scenes are influenced by her childhood spent in the countryside, "where the old values left by the ancients still exist." For Hoang, art is a means through which one can store good memories. She primarily creates with acrylics on canvas.
I describe a series of works that use children in rural Vietnam, where childhood is associated with rustic folk games.
Unlike urban children, rural children have the joys associated with childhood that no other urban children have.
If someone thinks that children born and raised in the countryside are disadvantaged, but they do not know that rural children also have joys that urban children never have. Fun games take place on country roads, rivers, village roads... such as buffalo riding, cow herding, kite flying, crab hunting, fishing, river bathing, and other folk games. That is the beauty of childhood in the countryside that when growing up, everyone remembers those beautiful memories. Choosing a simple theme that I have been attached to since I was a child is a way of recreating the past life of people, lifestyle, and work, about the culture of rural areas that are developing and losing elements. old folk. I dreamed of a childhood world and developed old scenes and people into colorful works.

Artistic Influences:
In the process of composing, the artists who influenced me like Jackson Pollock, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso... With artist Jackson Pollock, I was influenced by the unique drip technique to create make pictures come to life. With the painters Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, I was influenced by their use of color, light and vibrant, healthy lines in their paintings. As for the artist Pablo Picasso, I love the unique way of creating shapes as well as the strength of colors and lines in his paintings.
In my work, I often try to learn the techniques that I have influenced artists to find the right direction and long-term development. Currently, I am pursuing a line of cubist flower paintings that I like very much. We invite you to visit and enjoy!
