Artist Statement:
I am inspired to survive as an artist. Everyday.
I love paint. I love to create. And I love to talk about the human creative process.
My work has been described as polymorphic, encompassing a wide range of form, application and style over my thirty-year plus, professional career as a painter, illustrator and designer.
My original paintings, featured here, are a result of my lifelong passion for art coupled with a continued study, observation and exploration of all things beautiful, wondrous and infinite.
Viewers may recognize the hand of a studied classicist in my technique, as well as the passion of an impressionist in my brush and palette. My deep romance with color and light may speak to them in the subtle levels of highlight and shadow, hue and tone.
Those who love and have purchased my work find authenticity and originality in every piece. I abhor repetition. I seek to keep my paintings fresh. I do not produce multiples of one style, form, subject or genre.
For me every canvas is a new journey into the unknown territory of the creative process. Painting for me is about this in-between process from tabula rasa to final stroke.
At one point of my career when I was painting original murals in oil in Palm Beach homes, I discovered a new level of the subconscious process of creativity as I watched my brush lay in shape and tones on the canvas as an observer, rather than the creator.
Ever since I have continued to explore this 'zen' level of painting. Now introducing a new chemistry into my paints and medium coupled with a fresh, freeform approach - the paintings in my new body of work 'Still Untitled' are reaching a new luminescence of light that shines from within and changes with the angle of view.
I hope you enjoy the viewpoint.
Sincerely,
Pamela Boullier Ross

Artistic Influences:
Miss Burns. The lady with the pointy shoes and beehive hair. The one who pushed me to explore all mediums, study the masters and who always retrieved the art I threw away from the garbage can to feature in the high school art shows. After Miss Burns, many teachers, many masters and many jobs.
