Marion Wood

Born in the United Kingdom, Currently lives and works in Camarillo, California, USA.

The work focuses on the simplest elements of artistic expression. Using brushes and palette knives, I layer the paint freely and quickly, using intuition to balance the composition as it emerges and resolves into the finished piece. The joy and pain of creation is what keeps me involved. Sometimes the compositions emerge easily and sometime I have to fight for their outcome. I strive to fill the paintings with emotion and expression and gain a deep connection to the work as it evolves, and a sense of peace with the final brushstroke.

Marion is currently an artist in residence at Studio Channel Islands in Camarillo, California.
