Artist Statement:
I paint in the style of geometric cubism. My eyes see not only the outer, integral shell, I want to decompose each object into its component parts, give them a geometric shape. I show the viewer how much color affects the shape of an object, and vice versa, how much the form is able to dictate its conditions. The viewer himself puts together the whole picture from separate puzzles. My favorite material in my works is acrylic, it is it that allows you to create a clear shape and display color reproduction as close to reality as possible.
My name is Maria Tuzhilkina. I am a contemporary artist with 20 years of experience, I have a professional education. I live in Spain, on the island of Tenerife. I have my own studio here, where I give painting workshops for adults and children, and, of course, I paint every day in my own unique style. I actively sell my work all over the world, I have experience both offline and online sales. My work is shown in galleries Artfinder, Singulart, Saatchi, Artmajeur, , Tricera, The Artling.
I graduated from the university with a degree in artist-designer. I constantly improve my painting at master classes in Spain and in Europe. I actively exhibit my works and use every opportunity to do so. I sell my paintings not only through galleries but also through the social network Instagram. Artistic Influences:
My style is rooted in geometric Cubism, inspired by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. I focus on clear shapes, where every element is crafted by hand. Their approach to breaking down objects into geometric fragments shapes the core of my work.
When it comes to color, I am inspired by Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin and Vincent Van Gogh and learn from them to use bold, vibrant palettes to create contrast and depth.
I also use botanical motifs influenced by William Morris. His structured plant patterns inspire me to combine the beauty of nature with the clear geometry of cubism, creating a balance between organic and abstract forms.
My wonderful Tenerife inspires me to create! Bright colors, blooming poppies and cacti, waves and sunsets of the Atlantic Ocean, a volcano, air and a sea of ??emotions! Geometry is my passion, my eye arranges shapes into triangles, it’s already a habit.
