Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Derek is gifted with the expansive and uniquely creative vision shared with those artists who love the horizons and magnificent skies found only in the landscape of the Canadian prairies. After traveling in Europe Derek decided a lifelong interest in art and design could be fulfilled through artistic study at the Alberta College of Art (ACAD) in Calgary, Alberta.
