Statement for Alternate Places by Barbara Krupp

This series is inspired by the intriguing concept of spirits and places, and I explore how they fit in our world. I delve into pure emotion, allowing my subconscious thoughts to come out in forms of brushstrokes on my canvas. My favorite artist is Richard Diebenkorn and I think he would approve of my new artworks. Each painting becomes a contemplation on peace and human connection and is painted on the canvas in hope of harmonizing our world. I want my art to challenge the world and make it a catalyst for change. What the world needs now is peace.
