Andreea Zecheru

I am a visual artist based in Hamburg, Germany. My abstract paintings have been influenced by the Abstract Expressionism, especially by Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning.

Creating art is for me connecting to my inner world by bringing onto canvas emotions and linking them to color and composition. My creative process is inspired by the complexities that surround us. The concept of duality is often one of the main triggers for my work. Painting helps me reveal depths and unconscious feelings, the compositions are intuitive and dynamic. Softness and rawness, control and unexpected, dynamism and calmness alternate in my work - the elements intertwine and oppose. In my work, I am always looking for a kind of balance and emotional response.
