Artist Statement:
I was born in Russia to the family of artist. My father was an artist and drawing- painting teacher. I got my first lessons from him. Let's say I draw and paint the my whole life, using different media and trying different styles. However I think I have my own style - realistic with some touch of expressionism and Impressionism.
When I paint I do so with a profound love for life in my heart. I paint with my soul. I’m on a mission to show the world that there are no ugly or uninteresting subjects when you paint with all your love and truth. I’d like to open people’s eyes to the beauty that surrounds them every day, but that often goes unnoticed. Even a crumpled piece of paper can be a subject of art.

Education:
1973-1979 Moscow Architectural Institute (Master degree of architecture) - arts disciplines included 5 years of drawing classes, 5 years of painting classes and 2 years of sculpture.
Self education including copying works in museums, studio work with models, on-site drawing and painting.
In addition to my architectural practice, I participated in exhibitions. For several years I worked as full time artist and art teacher in Spain where there are a lot of private collections of my works.

Artistic Influences:
The first inspiration and teacher was my father. Then my two uncles were artists. One of them, George Malakov, was the Honored Artist of Ukraine.
In the history of art I like many great artists. Today most interesting artists for me are Joaquin Sorolla, Giovanni Boldini, Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin. From living artists I like Alvaro Castagnet, Jeremy Mann.
